Four Product Decisions

Building clarity, trust, and momentum across the brokerage journey.

The redesign focused on four key decisions that made the platform easier to scan, understand, and trust — from finding relevant businesses to navigating the broader product ecosystem.

Decision 1
Designed for scanning, not overwhelm

Business listings were reorganized around the information buyers need most: location, sector, revenue, cash flow, and business type. Clear cards and progressive filtering help users browse confidently without processing everything at once.

Decision 3

Navigation prioritized discoverability

Dashboard navigation was organized around the tasks users perform most often. Listings, privacy, and settings were placed close to the top so people can move through the platform without searching through unnecessary layers.

Decision 2
Filters built around real decision-making

The filtering model was redesigned around established user needs rather than the system's internal structure. Buyers can narrow opportunities quickly while keeping the experience understandable and lightweight.

Decision 4
Services appear after trust is established

The 'What We Offer' section was positioned after users had enough context to understand the platform. This sequencing helps services feel relevant rather than promotional and supports a more natural path from exploration to action.

Reflection

Trust has to be designed into the entire journey.

This project showed that a platform can contain the right functionality and still feel difficult to trust. The strongest improvements came from connecting information architecture, visual hierarchy, and business context rather than treating them as separate design problems.

The work also reinforced the value of designing alongside stakeholders while protecting the user's perspective. Every major decision had to balance clarity, commercial goals, and the emotional weight of buying or selling a business.
